Welcome to the St James Village Orchard website. This website is to share our experience in creating the orchard, provide a continuing source of information about what can be found there and to share material that we needed or produced along the way.
The Southwold Railway was a 3ft gauge line running 9 miles between Halesworth and Southwold. The Trust was formed in 1994 to keep the memory of the Railway, research, collate and add information and look into the possibility of reopening the line.

Following a publication of the Environment Agencys "Blyth Estuary Strategy Preferred Options", local people became deeply concerned that the proposed "Managed Realignment" would have a serious effect on Southwold Harbour and The Blyth Valley.

The group are working hard to restore the western part of this line. They have laid new track on the trackbed near the old road bridge in Halesworth, restored the foundations of the old engine shed on the Millennium Green with further projects in hand

The George Borrow Trust aims to advance the education of the public in the life and works of George Borrow in particular, by means which preserve, exhibit and study his writings and works and other material objects connected with his life and works.
The Blythweb Calendar publicises local events of interest which are open to the public. These include guided walks, coffee mornings, various activities, talks and lectures, theatre, and much more, often benefitting charities and good causes.
The Southwold Regattas are held every year. Open to all. New sailors and spectators are very welcome. Those wanting to turn up and hire a boat should arrive half an hour before the scheduled start of the regatta.

Walberswick Ferry
